About

Françoise Schneiders is a Tahitian/NZ lens-based artist who combines photography, film, audio and personal artefacts to create images and installations that navigate alternate ways of seeing and being seen; exploring questions of identity, representation, memory, myth and the poetic potential in the everyday.

Always was, always will be

Françoise acknowledges and pays respect to the Dharawal, Yuin and Wadi Wadi peoples as the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of Country in the Illawarra and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
